I started to write this yesterday, but my computer has been extremely slow lately. Trying to upload a bunch of pictures doesn’t help.
Brunch yesterday at Your Inner Vagabond with Jen, Rachel, and Tony. I’d never been there before, but I think the inside of the Genie’s lamp in Aladdin looks a lot like this.

Food was good (a buffet), I especially liked the mushroom soup and the acorn apple squash puree. The brown blur was a random girl who was dancing to the live music they had during brunch, which was pretty cool.

Blurry, but you get the idea.
Afterward, Tone, Jen and I went down to Handmade Arcade in Shadyside. The two years prior that I went, it was at Construction Junction, but this year it was at the Hunt Armory and I thought it was a better venue. It was much bigger, so you could walk down the aisles without running people over. A LOT less claustrophobia-inducing. Parking sucked, but parking always sucks, so the larger space was worth having to walk a few extra blocks.
I spent the first half hour just wandering around the vendors, taking everything in. Otherwise, I would have bought everything I saw. Its overwhelming.

Handmade Arcade always makes me want to be crafty, and every year I cook up grandiose ideas of starting my own knitting enterprise or mini-jewelry making company. These ambitions typically fade by the time I’m out the door and on my way to the car.
But you never know.
Want to see what I got? Of course you do.

Alice in Wonderland key chain from My Favorite Mirror.

Buttons from Little Evelyn.

Stars poster from Strawberryluna.

and this Portland t-shirt from the guys at We Are Campfire. They didn’t have my size with them, so they’re going to ship it for free. These dudes are super nice and their shirts are really good, so I think you should check them out if you need some new t-shirts in your life.
I have to say that probably my favorite thing were the screenprints of the front page of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette from the day after the election from the Artists Image Resource. Not just because they were free, but because they were pretty awesome.

It looks much better than it photographed. I just need to get a really frame.

Dude that poster is freaking huge. It takes up the entire wall behind my bed. A frame for that thing would be at least $600. Just tape that shit up!!
