Oh, Nine

I know what you’ve been thinking.
I haven’t heard from that adorable Andrea girl in a while.  I wonder what she’s been up to…
I can confidently tell you that she has been up to nothing much at all.  In fact, she’s been a rather slackasaurus lately.  Hear her roar.
Okay, enough third person talk.  Its kinda creepy.
This [...]

Buon Natale

Just wanted to say I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow, no matter what you’re celebrating, even if its nothing at all.
I know some families open presents on my Christmas Eve, but that is a big N.O. in my family.  Even though we’re older now, its still strictly just Christmas Day.  The first one [...]

Never Turn Your Back On It

Why I haven’t been blogging:  I finished two books in the past two days and checked out four more.  I have a hard time balancing reading and blogging for some reason.  I get really into one for several days and abandon the other.  I need to find balance.

I bought a wall calendar the other day, [...]

Saddle Up the Clothes Horse

In my continuing efforts to dress more age-appropriately, I wore a skirt to work yesterday.
I know for most women this is just business as usual, but for me, its not.  I think I’ve worn a dress or skirt a dozen times since I graduated high school five years ago.  My theory is I always saw [...]

Half Baked

Hip hip hooray, I baked Christmas cookies yesterday.

They’re not burnt, they’re crispy-flavored, thanks.
Pop quiz!!  Which of the following thing/things occurred while I was baking:
a) The egg whites slithered off the rim of a bowl to the counter and finally to the floor like a slippery, disgusting Slinky.
b) An ordinary-looking spoon turned out to have the [...]

Lassoing the Moon

I don’t have cable, but I was able to pick up NBC today and watch It’s a Wonderful Life.  Oh, that Jimmy Stewart.  I’ve seen that movie a billion and a half times, and I know, I know, I know, its a Christmas cliche, but I still like it.
Moreso than It’s a Wonderful Life, the [...]

Art In Action!

So remember not too long ago when I babbled on about my art class and blind contour drawings?
Over Thanksgiving, my family found my portfolio from that art class stashed behind the couch in my parents’ house.  They insisted I take it back to my house.  My sister even dashed out to my car and put [...]

December 9, 2008

Remember the other day how I was bragging about my six-year-old laptop?  I came within a half an inch of recanting that statement.  I don’t know what happened.  One second, I’m sipping cinnamon apple tea, the next second the mug leaps from my hand and dangerously close to the laptop.  No joke, leaps.
Right now I’m [...]

So Much To Say

I think I’m one of maybe two people in this crowded coffee shop who is not using a Mac.  Two out of fourteen computers.  Maybe more.
Part of me realizes that using this old, old HP is a sign of how not cool I am, but I see it as a badge of how thrifty I [...]

Hockey Night in Pittsburgh

Suuuuch a good game.

Missed the first goal because I was wandering around Mellon Arena trying to find my seat and was misdirected three times by little old men working as ushers.  I swear it took me longer to find my seat than it did a parking space.  Oy. Vey.

View from when I stopped to ask [...]
